No one wants to lose their hair yet it will be a reality for most men and women during their adult lives. Most people notice their hair is thinning when they are in their thirties or forties. The degree of hair loss can vary from person to person. This is a condition you should not ignore. Face your dilemma and begin treatment right away. The Risks of Medications

Medications are available and can help people successfully grow their hair back. The down side is these treatments contain chemicals which may not be good for your body. When you apply a medicated treatment to your scalp, the chemicals can work their way into your bloodstream and cause you pain or make you feel ill.

Hair growth medications have to be used for life because if you stop using them, your hair will fall out again. That’s because medicated treatments only mask the symptoms.

The Benefits of Natural Hair Loss Remedies

You can find simple natural remedies to stimulate your hair to grow without risking your health and it will not cost you a lot of money. In fact, you can make your own natural hair growth treatments from ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is an effective baldness remedy which is good for both your hair and scalp. It penetrates the scalp to lift dirt which can clog the pores and cause the hair to fall out. It also moisturizes the strands and protects them from breakage.

Herbal Baldness Remedy

Saw palmetto is effective as a baldness remedy for people who have androgenic alopecia, also known as male or female pattern baldness. This herb blocks the production of the hormone which causes this condition.

Fitness For Life

We are saturated with images of what healthy is supposed to look like. Pictures of the young and lean are everywhere. Not that I’m all that old, mind you, but the fact remains you will never look as good as you did (or at least as good as you could have) at 20. If you’re past 20 this comes as no joy, but the fact is that you should probably get rid of the idea that you think you should look 20 anyway. In good shape doesn’t mean great shape, and being in good shape is just about as good.

Let’s talk about what that means. Being in good shape means you could run a mile pretty easily. It’s not going to kill you, and you just might be able to participate in the 5k fun run and walk for charity without having a heart attack in the first 3k – and probably not even stopping along the way. Great shape means you can do the mile in under 6 minutes. It’s the same mile, just not quite the same speed.

Looking good means you have around 15-20% body fat as a male and 25%-30% as a female. It doesn’t mean 10% for males and 15% for females. It might only be a few pounds of fat after all and having a six pack is highly overrated, especially for women. If men wanted six packs on women they would date – men.

Being in decent shape means you know you’re probably not going to be the best looking person there when your friend asks you to go water skiing, but you wont spend all day in a towel cowering in the corner of the boat either. You’ll probably take a few turns yourself and have a good time. Being in great shape means you go skiing all day and can’t walk the next.

No matter how you look at it, it’s more than likely that you only think you want to be in great shape, but you no longer have the age, time or hormones to do so. So throw that silly idea in the ditch and get down to the process of getting in a little better shape over a longer period of time. If you start walking, you can end up jogging a little by the end of just one month. Jog and walk for a month and you might throw in a short run from time to time. before the end of a year and you’ll be in so much better shape you probably won’t believe it – and you’ll hardly even notice how easy it is to get there; at least until you start.

5 Top Exercises to Jump Start Your Workout Routine

If you are trying to get your workout routine figured out, but are not quite sure where to start you are part of a very large group. Here are a few exercises that are found in almost all workout routines, where you own a gym, have a home gym or are just getting started.

1. Jumping Jacks – This is an excellent way to kick start your workout routine. It will get the blood flowing and get you warmed up for the rest of your workout.

2. Walking / Running  – This can either be done on a treadmill or outdoors. If walking outdoors, be sure and walk at a brisk pace and not get caught up in the scenery. If you are just starting to get back in shape, start out with walking only. As you build your endurance and stamina, begin rotating walking and jogging. Start out walking, jog until you start to lose stamina, walk again to regain stamina. Rinse and repeat until you have went your desired distance. It is totally up to the individual, but many people will eventually eliminate the walking portion and jog / run the entire distance.

3. Pushups – Perhaps one of the oldest exercises, but still one of the best in my opinion. Pushups will help you to build arm, shoulder and chest muscles. Much like the walking / running exercise above, this exercise can be done in progression. If you find yourself struggling trying to do a pushup, simply do them on your knees instead of your legs straight. As you build endurance and muscles, start doing them with your legs straight.

4. Steps / Stairs – If you are fortunate to own a stepping machine, by all means use it for this exercise. If not, you can do this any place you have a step up. If you do not have stairs in your home, you can either try and find a place a step up exists or you can purchase a stepping block for a little of nothing.

5. Squats – One of the best exercises for your legs and gluts, but this exercise must be done properly to avoid injury. This is especially true if you are using weights while doing them. The proper way to perform this exercise is to stand with your feet shoulder width apart and squat until your legs are parallel with the floor and back up. Again, you can do this in progression by starting with no weight and as they become easy for you start adding weight.

While there are many other exercises that can be added to this list, the above are the most common found in workout routines. The main thing is to get a routine that fits you at your current level and stick with it. Once you get to a point where you can complete these five exercise with ease, start incorporating other ones to make it more challenging.

Beauty Salon Tipping – Etiquette Guide

When you find yourself in a beauty salon there can seem to be an overwhelming amount of people to tip that it can be a bit confusing. Provided here is a quick breakdown of whom you should tip and how much you should tip them.

As an example let’s say you spend about $20 for your haircut. You should first tip the stylist, the one who did the actual cutting and combing $4 if they delighted you with the results, $3 if you’re not jumping for joy but are still looking good. You should give their assistant a tip, which depends entirely on how attentive they were. The person who did the shampooing for you should get a dollar, and if there’s a coatroom attendant they should also get a dollar.

If you went in for a perm or a hair color change you should not tip less than $5 regardless. You should tip a bit more if you are thrilled with the work done. The general guideline for a beauty parlor is 15-20% for any service provided.

It doesn’t matter if you visit the salon only once or twice a year of if you go there weekly, you should tip consistently. You shouldn’t pay less only because you don’t visit very much. Especially if they are giving you consistent quality work you should tip accordingly.

To do it the most courteous way you should personally give the tips yourself. This is especially true to those people that have put in the most time with you. The beauty salon staff usually gives a personal service – think about it, it’s your body they are working on – and since they will usually chat you up while they work they become privy to your more intimate details if you divulge them. If you go to a busy salon and there are a good number of people to tip out, many places will have an envelope at the desk for that exact purpose. If they know you because you go there often you should personally thank each stylist and simply leave the other tips at the front desk.

One exception, if the owner of the shop was the one that did your hair cut they should not receive a tip. Many times the owner will charge more for the cut taking away the necessity of a tip, although on your way out you should offer a thank you. If you didn’t realize that it was the owner that was doing the job and you do offer a tip they will probably decline it. In this case don’t keep pushing it, a smile and your thanks will suffice.

If the results are making you miserable you shouldn’t withhold your tips as a way to send a message. What you should do is complain to the manager about the service you received and still tip the minimum. The people that work in a salon depend on tips and the manager is the one who is ultimately responsible for the work that is done in their salon.l If they did their best trying to satisfy your request you should still give them something. They should also try their best to try and fix it or repair the damage.

Yoga for Men’s Health

A regular practice of Yoga can support and enhance a man’s physical and emotional health, while bringing about a state of well-being. On a physical level, the asanas or physical postures of Yoga help to prevent injury by increasing flexibility, strength, endurance, and balance. The practice of pranayama, or Yogic breathing exercises, is also very beneficial for a man’s health. Pranayama exercises calm and soothe an over-active nervous system, thereby lowering elevated cortisol and adrenalin levels. As the nervous system is calmed, blood pressure is lowered and cardiac health is improved. Additionally, practicing restorative Yoga poses will allow a man to release long-held muscular and emotional tension, stress, and anxiety.

On a physical level, a regular practice of Yoga asanas will benefit a man by increasing his sense of balance and strength, while enhancing his level of flexibility. Quite often, pain from repetitive stress injuries, and other injuries related to competitive sports, may be reduced by a regular Yoga practice. For example, if a man has a strained tennis elbow, poses, such as Downward Facing Dog, may help to re-balance, strengthen and stretch the ligaments that are frequently strained playing tennis. A balanced, vigorous practice of Yoga poses will help to stabilize a man’s core muscles, stretch overly-taught areas of his body, and help to strengthen weaker muscles groups. All of these benefits will help to prevent, and heal injuries, from other physical activities such as golf, tennis, football, and rugby.

Another set of very important benefits for men, of a regular practice of Yoga asanas and pranayama techniques, are lower stress levels and improved cardiac health. Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death of men in the United States. Many men juggle a lot of different balls, as they work at becoming successful in their careers, raise a family, attend to aging parents, and so on. All of these responsibilities can cause a tremendous amount of stress, tension, and anxiety. Practicing Yoga poses, with calming breathing exercises, consistently, will help a man to relax, unwind, and release tension – both physically and emotionally. As the nervous system calms, blood pressure will drop, and the stress on a man’s heart will be eased, leading to improved cardiac health.

The often overlooked practice of restorative Yoga poses also offers men great health benefits – both physically and emotionally. Restorative Yoga postures are more receptive and passive in nature, in comparison to strenuous practices like Power Yoga. Practicing Restorative Yoga poses will allow a man to let go, slow down, and gently release the driven masculine energy of doing and achieving that which we value so highly in our culture. In allowing him to receive the poses, instead of “doing” the poses, a man will be able to release, rest, and rejuvenate his body, mind, and spirit.

Outside of India, Yoga for men’s health is a new concept, but medical and scientific studies are breaking new ground with results, which reveal that a Yogic lifestyle yields many benefits for both genders.

Anxiety: 11 Signs You May Be Suffering From Anxiety or Panic Attacks

Do you often feel nervous? I’m not talking about the nervousness of doing something new or heading into surgery. Anxiety in small doses is normal and healthy. It’s constant anxiety and its evil cousin panic attacks which you want to avoid.

Anxiety and panic attacks can be totally overwhelming. And unfortunately if you don’t deal with the underlying problem, they just get worse.

Everyone has different reactions, but these are some of the most common symptoms:

1. A racing heart and a feeling of shortness of breath.

2. Uncontrollable fears of everyday activities like driving or speaking to a group of people.

3. The overwhelming feeling that something bad is going to happen if you don’t do a task exactly correct.

4. Racing thoughts that refuse to let you concentrate and make you worried that you may be going crazy.

5. Finding yourself repeating yourself over and over or twitching some part of your body almost to relieve “excess energy.”

6. A feeling of impending doom. Such as a heartache, car accident or natural disaster. When I suffered from panic attacks I was constantly worried about terrorist attacks (and this was before 9/11).

7. Numbness in your hands, fingers, toes, and legs, or a weakness in your knees or legs.

8. An inability to swallow or excessively dry mouth.

9. Fear of strangers or sometimes any people around you.

10. Staying in your home “because its safe.” Leading to an inability to leave.

11. Overwhelmed by even the most basic tasks that you used to complete with ease.

Many symptoms of anxiety and panic disorder can also lead to panic attacks. The good news is there are ways of treating the underlying causes and to remove any of the negative effects of the anxiety.

Unfortunately, if left untreated, anxiety and panic attacks tend to become worse. The anxiety exhausts you and then leads to more anxiety and then panic attacks.

A main cause of anxiety tends to be diet. By avoiding sugar, caffeine and a few other over stimulating foods and chemicals, much of the effects of anxiety can be relieved.

The underlying cause of anxiety is often an incorrect association in the mind. By using various therapy techniques the incorrect association can be corrected and the panic attacks relieved.

The more you know about anxiety and panic attacks the faster you can find relief.

If you suffer from some of the symptoms above, seek professional help.

Exercise Tips for Women Over 30

Turning thirty is a milestone for most people. Women in particular should be aware that this is the time to take control of your body. It is unfortunate, but true, that most women wait until they are fifty plus to start exercising and eating properly. The benefits of exercise in the battle against aging are phenomenal. With the right exercise routine and diet women cannot only feel their best, but also live longer.

Physical exercise for women over thirty is any activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and overall health or wellness in the human body. Reasons for exercising include strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, improving athletic skills, weight loss, and for enjoyment. It also improves mental health, helps prevent depression, helps to promote or maintain positive self-esteem, and can even enhance an individual’s body image. Women can greatly benefit from any of these positive changes.

Before you start an exercise program it would be a good idea to talk to a doctor, especially if you have not been active in a while. After receiving doctor’s approval you should start your workout slowly by beginning with maybe a brisk walk. It is entirely possible to simply sneak exercise into your day. Small things can add up to big results. For instance take the stairs instead of the elevator or park your car at the edges of parking lots, instead of finding that close space. If you work outside of the home, utilize your lunch break and go walking rather than sitting. If you stay at home, just increase the pace you move while you are doing your chores.

To maximize your chances of sticking with your new routine try to choose activities that you enjoy such as swimming or riding a bicycle. Switching these activities up can also improve your chances of success. Go biking one day and swimming the next. Find a friend or a loved one to share these activities with. It is often found that people can exercise longer when in the company of someone else. Don’t forget to make exercise enjoyable. Put on some of your favorite music or even watch a television show.

Low impact exercises such as aerobics and walking are great exercises for women over thirty. They increase the body’s ability to use oxygen making them a great cardiovascular workout. Aerobics and walking can be intensified by carrying hand weights or wearing leg weights. Once you feel comfortable with these lighter exercises you can begin high impact exercises such as jogging. These exercises will promote lean muscle mass in women and higher metabolic rates.

The entire point of exercise is to improve your health. Women should exercise at least 3 times a week for no less than 30 minutes. The thirty minutes can be achieved in one session or can be broken down to three ten minute intervals. It is important to get an accelerated heartbeat because that is what causes the burning of fat. Don’t forget to stretch during all of this. Stretching promotes flexibility and reduces injuries. Women can’t control aging, but they can control the rate at which it occurs with proper exercise.

Eating Tips For Getting the Most From a Home Fitness Program

Home fitness programs are an effective way to get a trim, fit body in a relatively short period of time. Eating properly along with the mix of cardio and resistance training allows users to lose weight while toning all of the hard to work areas of the body. Of course, eating is an important part of all types of exercise, but by learning how much to eat and when to eat it, you will maximize the effects of this program.

Portioning Food When Working Out

The amount of food consumed before, during, and after a home fitness program has a large impact on the success of the program. Failing to eat enough will leave you feeling weak because the high level of exercise is draining the energy your body is using to keep its basic processes going.

Eating too much food is not in your best interest either. Consuming large amounts of food causes uncomfortable side effects such as cramping and nausea that makes it virtually impossible to exercise. It also causes you to move slower hampering the overall effects of the routine. If you do not consume the correct amount of food, you lose the momentum necessary to tighten and tone your muscles during the exercise program.

Scheduling Eating

Two hours before starting your workout, it is vital to eat a balanced meal. This gives your body enough time to digest the food and convert it into the energy you will need to make it through the various exercises. Otherwise, it has the exact same effect on your body as not eating enough. If you notice that your energy level drops a short time after starting into your routine, have a quick snack a half hour before starting your exercise. If you eat a larger snack or a light meal, wait an hour before you begin the routine.

The two hours prior to exercising is also the perfect opportunity to replenish your fluid levels in order to keep you hydrated throughout the duration of the routine. Experts recommend drinking at least four cups of water before beginning your routine. Two cups should be consumed two hours before you start to exercise and the last two a half hour before. It is also wise to drink at least four times per hour throughout the program to prevent muscle cramps and dehydration.

Replacing Nutrients

Replacing the nutrients in your body after exercising is just as important as before your exercise. The lack of nutrients causes you to feel tired and groggy, making it difficult to make it through the day. This will eat away at your willpower making the routine difficult to stick with and harder to give the workout the intensity it needs. Therefore, have something to eat no more than two hours after you have stopped working out.

How much food you consume and when you eat it both have a major effect on the successfulness of the Slim in 6 program. Although it will produce the desired effects on its own, changing your eating habits to match your routine will help you see the results sooner.

So What Is All The New Detox Diet Craze

Effective or Fad?

It seems like the latest craze in dieting and health, everywhere you turn there are commercials, infomercials, magazine articles, and of course, sales pitches regarding the Detox diet. So how is one to decipher whether detoxification is a relative need or a simple promotion to assist the diet industry’s billion dollar a year sales?

A little due diligence can help determine whether a Detox diet is something that can help you retain or gain a higher level of health. Removing toxins from your body can make a significant difference in your overall health. Detox diets are based on the principle that our food is for the most part chemically treated, and filled with toxins. Even foods listed as organic are not completely organic unless they are labeled 100% organic. Anything with an organic label that does not specify 100% organic can have as much as 25% non-organic material and toxins in the processing, growing, or cultivation phases.

“So What Is All The New Detox Diet Craze” It’s no secret that farmers utilize growth hormones in their livestock to produce more pounds of meat per animal. These growth hormones are pinpointed as one of the leading causes for the rapid growth rate of our children. The majority of twelve year olds are now above five feet. Scientists look toward the growth hormones used in animal production to help explain this.

Thus, toxins are in the foods we eat, the water we drink, even the water we purchase. There is a build up of chemicals in the body that the body is not likely to rid itself of, and thus the Detox diet was introduced to assist in the removal of toxins from the body.

A Detox diet that has been tailored to you is best. Being able to readily lay your hands on information about how to guide yourself through the detoxification process is also vital to the success of an effective Detox diet. For instance, a person who eats a diet that consists mostly of fish, particularly salmon can find themselves with a sudden case of mercury poisoning. Mercury poisoning is not an obvious ailment. In fact it is very difficult to diagnose until the individual loses the function of their hands. Even then it can be missed. However, once the mercury poisoning is diagnosed, one of the fastest methods of treatment is an effective Detox diet. Why? Because a good Detox diet will cleanse the system and rib the body of the majority of poisons and toxins that build up in our systems through the foods we eat and the environments we live in.

However, the same Detox diet utilized for an individual with too much fish in their diet is not likely to be as effective for an individual who wishes to use the Detox diet to assist in the process of smoking cessation. An effective Detox diet for smoking cessation will vary, as the primary goal is to rid the body of a build up of nicotine in the system.

The next logical question is do Detox diets work? Some Detox diets work and other Detox diets don’t work. “So What Is All The New Detox Diet Craze” How can you tell the difference? For starters, an effective Detox diet should be able to explain why the foods that are being suggested are on the list in the first place. Anyone can slap together an outline of vegetables and call it a Detox diet. A Detox diet contains more than just vegetables.

An effective Detox diet will have strong recommendations for various vitamins and minerals, along with an explanation of why these vitamins and minerals help in the detoxification process. The detoxification process is more complex than most people realize, and using a blend of vitamins and minerals to assist in the detoxification process is necessary, without overdosing on detoxification vitamins. It is possible to overdose on vitamins. Any Detox diet that does not restrict the vitamin intake is not an effective Detox diet.

An effective Detox diet will educate the dieter along the way. The detoxification process is not just a blanket idea. Retaining the positive effects takes some education as well as a constant desire to remain healthy. An effective Detox diet will show you how to rid your body of the current toxins while teaching you how to minimize the intake of toxins once normal eating has resumed.

There are those who should avoid a Detox diet. Just like all diets and diet products, the Detox diet is not a one size fits all plan. People with specific health concerns, eating disorders, or chronic illnesses should at the very least consult their physician or avoid the Detox diet altogether. Any Detox diet that markets to everyone without regard to personal health or possible complications is not an effective Detox diet plan.

The Dieting Industry

The dieting industry is a billion dollar a year business, with annual growth that leaps by about 10 to 15% annually. People are searching for better ways to be healthy, not to mention better ways to lose weight, look younger, and feel more energized. The dieting industry is loaded with companies that take full advantage of any fad or trend that comes along. It’s a dieting jungle out there, and it is a case of buyer beware.

“So What Is All The New Detox Diet Craze” Most Detox diets available today are simple plans that the designer of the plan wishes you to execute time and again, thus very few teach you about common toxins. Common toxins are easy to avoid, and of course easy to ingest. It is difficult to avoid ingesting the common toxins if you are unaware of what they are and how we end up with these common toxins in our body. Common toxins that produce illness, stress, fatigue, and run down your body are everywhere. How easy would it be to avoid them if you just knew where these common toxins existed? Of course, most Detox diets are based on the principle that you will notice how much better you feel and as you re-ingest the common toxins, you will return time and again for more information on the detoxification process.

Thus, while you are seeking an effective Detox diet, you want to be sure that it offers methods of avoiding the common toxins that we run into on a daily basis. These common toxins are in the air, in the products we use on our hair and skin, and in the foods we eat.

Detox Supplementationg

There is quite a bit of controversy surrounding Detox supplements. Particularly Detox supplements that are sold by the creators of the Detox diet you are interested in purchasing. Many Detox diet programs are designed to automatically ship you their products month after month. This creates a simple chain that allows them to maximize their profit at your expense.

Detox supplements that are set up for consistent delivery charge you prior to receiving the Detox supplements. That means if you decided that you are not interested in their Detox supplementation programs, and you have forgotten to cancel your order, sometimes in as little as two weeks, you will be charged for a product you do not wish to receive.

These Detox diet programs are set up for maximum profit and little regard to customer satisfaction. While there are advantages to some Detox supplements, not all of them are high quality. Once again, the due diligence must be considered by the buyer in cases such as these.

Doctor Recommended Detox Diets

As with any diet plan, it is always better to take advice from doctor recommended Detox diet plans than it is from any other source. You are not interested in witchcraft and potions, you are pursuing better health through the detoxification process. There is a big difference when it comes to Detox diet programs. A Detox diet plan that comes with the recommendation of a physician, as well as physician assisted Detox diet planning, there is a much higher chance of success and overall wellness.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that all Detox diet plans are doctor recommended. One doctor’s stamp of approval doesn’t really mean anything. When a doctor recommended Detox diet plan has been approved and contributed to by numerous doctors, then you have a little proof in your pudding. Doctor recommended Detox diet plans are actually much less common than most people realize. A specialized Detox diet plan that includes all the basic nutrients your body needs not only to rid itself of toxins, but to operate well during the detoxification process takes vast amounts of research to produce.

Take the Next Step

So now you’re ready to do your homework and find the right Detox diet plan that will work for you. Luckily, most of the research has been done for you. The absolute best bang for your buck Detox diet plan out there today can be found in “detoxmanual”.

The “detoxmanual” a complete guide offers full scale information, as well as a complete Detox diet plan that is founded in medical advice from medical providers. The Detox diet plan offered is not only about half the price of other Detox diet plans, but it is much more comprehensive, and comes with a money back guarantee. You have nothing to lose except the unwanted toxins flowing through your body.
