A lot of modern beauty salons today are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment for doing practically anything you wish to be done with your hair from getting a perm to hair coloring, hair extensions, hair straightening, hair re-bonding, hot oil, and so on. Beauty salons also offer a wide range of beauty services aside from hair styling such as manicure, pedicure, facials, massage, hair removal, tanning services, and even full-scale spa treatments.

Types of beauty salons

There are different types of beauty salons and one way to categorize them is by price range: low, middle, and upscale. There are walk-in facilities that do not require an appointment and are usually lower priced than the upscale beauty salons. These types are usually homegrown neighborhood salons and are ideal for the person on-the-go who wants a simple trim or a basic haircut or a wash-and-wear hairstyle. These salons may be a bit limited in their equipment and offer only basic services. The second type-mid-range category-is usually a franchise of a national salon chain. These salons are reputable and are known by trademark throughout the country. For those who want a change of hairstyle but wants to be on the safe side, this is a safe bet because stylists in these salon chains usually undergo strict training and have to pass certain standards before they are allowed to cut and style hair. These types of salons usually offer a wide range of services and are equipped with the latest beauty salon technologies. Upscale boutique salons may also be homegrown or owned by an international or national chain. Naturally, they are pricier and usually have a swanky or hip address. A lot of five-star hotels offer upscale beauty salons where the patrons are in the upper-class range. These salons usually have hairdressers in landau scrubs and provide full-pampering treatments. So if you have the money to spare, it is also god to indulge yourself in these salons once or twice a year.

Beauty salon tips

Sticking with one stylist and beauty salon is ideal for most because developing a relationship with your stylist makes it easier to get things done right; and when it comes to beauty, you want to avoid any errors as much as possible. Choose a stylist that you are comfortable with and one who has a natural instinct for knowing what looks good on you. Hunting for the perfect stylist will also be a matter of budget and proximity. Remember, however, when it comes to your hairstyle, think of it as an investment. Don’t scrimp too much when choosing a beauty salon since the right hairstyle can do a lot to make you look gorgeous and a bad one can do a whole lot to wreak havoc to your appearance. Also remember that the best salons are usually already discovered by a lot of people. Word gets around fast when a beauty salon or stylist is worth taking note of. This means that salons or stylists that are worth it are usually booked weeks in advance so don’t put off getting an appointment until the last minute.

Makeup Beauty Tips From the Experts to Make Everything Seem Bigger, Brighter and Tighter

Did you ever want to know about the makeup beauty tips that the makeup artists to use to achieve their fantastic results? How does skin end up looking so flawless when they go over it? How do those models’ lips seem so perfect and pouty? How do they make eyes always seem so bright and perfect? As it happens, there really are specific makeup tricks that go behind all of these effects.

Let’s start with that perfect skin. The first thing you need to do starting out is to use skin lotion that is fortified with SPF. You need to rub into your skin and leave it there for the skin to absorb it. After a few minutes, you can start with a little touch of foundation. You don’t apply it with a brush though – you put it on with your fingers (bet you didn’t know that). You could use a brush after this – but that would be to put on concealer and blend it into the foundation. You do this to hide any blemishes. Make sure when you use face powder, that you use neutral stuff, and not colored. When you’re done, you can spray on a touch of water to make your makeup look a little less powdery.

If you want your face to look tighter and more together, you really don’t have to head for your plastic surgeon. What you need to do instead is, to trick the eye. Pick up a cake of matte powder that’s a little darker than your skin tone. Starting under your cheekbone, try to blend the powder in. Use a little blush right there high up and dust own a little highlighter all over your nose, your brow bone and your cheekbones. It’s going to help make your jaw line look a lot stronger, and it’s going to make your neck look tighter.

Let’s get onto those bright eyes. Basically, what you want to do is to use a little reflective concealer by the top of the nose, close to your inner eye. It’ll help cover up any darkness there might be. And then, you can use silver liner. There are metallic glinting flakes in it that will reflect light and light up your eyes. If silver liner seems a little too bold for your look, you can instead use a transparent, but shiny, eyeshadow near the inner corner of your eye and around your brow bone. For the best effect, curl your eyelashes and touch them up with black mascara. The effect on your eyes will be one of largeness, openness and brightness.

Why Drinking Enough Water Can Help Keep Acne Away

You probably do not know this yet but product wastes and toxic build up in your system is one of the main reasons why you have acne or why your skin breaks out.

You see, your body has 4 channels of elimination … your bowels, kidneys, lungs, and your skin. Your bowels and kidneys are the primary channels that your body expels product wastes and toxins through.

The only time that your body expels product wastes through your lungs and skin is when your bowels and kidneys are overloaded with product wastes and toxins.

This can happen when you're not drinking enough water.
You see, water is the main carrier of nutrients throughout your body and is quite possibly the single most important contributor to healing and preventing acne flare-ups.

Drinking enough water will dissolve waste products in your system so it can be easily remove and flush out. Without enough water, there will not be much to dissolve these product wastes and toxins … causing it to build up in your system and causing your body to expel these product wastes and toxins through your lungs and skin.

And this can and will result in acne breakout.

How much water should you be drinking each day to dissolve product waste and flush out toxins from your body?

Although some would say you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day and some would say 3 liters a day or half of your bodyweight in ounces a day.

I say, you should drink only enough to see that your urine is mostly clear, which is probably much more than what you're drinking now.

But I would not recommend you going overboard because drinking too much water will also flush out electrolyte minerals out of your system (which is not good).

So how do you know how much water you should be drinking each day?

Test!

Start by drinking 7 glasses of water a day for the next 2 to 3 days. If you see that your urine is clear then 7 glasses of water a day is what you should be drinking.

But remember, you do not want to go overboard so you may want to try drinking 6 glasses of water a day. If you see that your urine is kind of yellow drinking 6 glasses of water a day then you should stick to 7 glasses of water a day. If not then you should stick with 6 glasses of water a day.

But if you find that 7 glasses of water a day is not enough. Then you should try drinking more glasses of water a day and see the results.

What you're trying to do here is make sure you're drinking enough water each day. Not too much or too little.
Another important thing you should know …

You can not just drink any type of water. There are certain types of water that's full of toxins (such as tap water). The 2 types of water I recommend you drink is distilled water and purified water. Distilled water has no minerals, which means if you drink it, it will leach out any undesired non-organic minerals from your system.

But since distilled water has no minerals (it's just dead water), you will need to drink some purified water to oxygenate your system. However, you do need to drink them separately and drink it on an empty stomach for it to be effective.

While water alone will not eliminate your acne it will greatly assist your skin in remaining healthy and that will be one part of the pie in fighting acne.

This is why face steaming should not be performed too regularly, so as to avoid stripping the skin of its protective oils. In some cases, overly frequent steaming can actually result in even oily skin, as the pores work to product extra oil to make up for the loss. The general rule of thumb is to steam clean no more than three times per week.

What is the right way to steam clean skin?

Steps One
Fill a large bowl with boiling water, making sure not to burn the hands or face.

Step Two
Place your head over the water (at least 12-18 inches away). If necessary, drape a towel over your head to keep the steam in, but do not keep your face over the water if the sensation is uncomfortable.
